Instructions
Weigh the oats and cocoa butter into a measuring jug
Transfer to a blender or food processor solely for your DIY formulations
Blend the ingredients together (it doesn’t have to be ultra-fine, just as long as the ingredients are blended well together)
Measure the Epsom Salt and Bicarb on the measuring jug
Transfer to the blender and blend all the ingredients together into a powder
Decant to the cosmetic jar
Close tightly and label
Usage
Prepare a bath with lukewarm (not hot) water
Pour a cupful of the Oat Soak into an organza bag. This helps to keep all the contents of the product in the packet, so they don’t float all over the bath tub
Soak for 10 to 15 minutes, then rinse with lukewarm water and pat dry without rubbing.
Apply firstly a body oil then a body cream (see our previous recipes) immediately or within 3 minutes after getting out the tub.
Safety Note
• Conduct a patch test before first use
• Don’t soak for too long because it could dry out your skin
• Use within 3 months
• Store away from direct sunlight and heat
• Caution: Bath may be slippery due to the cocoa butter. But it’s added at a very minimal amount, not to be hazardous
• As with other eczema treatments, oatmeal baths aren’t a cure but may temporarily alleviate eczema symptoms.
