SA Candle Wax Calculator
How the Candle Wax Calculator Works
The Candle Wax Calculator is designed for candle makers in South Africa, using centimeters for measurements and grams for the final wax amount. It quickly estimates how much wax you need, based on container dimensions and wax type.
Height & Diameter (cm):
Enter the container's height and diameter in centimeters. This information
is used to calculate the volume of the cylinder.
Wax Type:
Different waxes have different densities, meaning the weight required for
the same volume will vary. Choose soy, beeswax, or paraffin for an approximate
calculation.
Number of Candles:
If you plan to make several identical candles, simply enter the number. The
calculator will multiply the wax needed for one candle by the total quantity.
Calculation Steps:
1. Volume of a cylinder = π × (Diameter / 2)² × Height (in cm).
2. Multiply by the wax density (g/cm³) to get the weight needed.
3. Multiply by the number of candles if making multiples.
Disclaimer:
Real-world results can vary slightly due to factors like shrinkage, fragrance additions,
container thickness, and fill level. This calculator provides a baseline estimate.
