DIY Natural Lip Balm

Phase A

  1. Combine the Castor Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Mango Butter and Beeswax in a double boiler or heat-safe bowl.
  2. Fill a pan with water and heat it up to a light simmer.
  3. Place your double boiler in the water.
  4. Stir occasionally until all the ingredients are melted and combined.

Phase B

  1. Remove your double boiler from the water.
  2. Add your Vitamin E oil and the optional essential oil for aroma and extra nourishment.
  3. Stir again and pour into a container of your choice. You can opt for plastic or glass tubs, or even lip balm rollers if you have on hand.
  4. Allow your balm to set and cool before use. 

A Few Options for the Essential Oil

Tea Tree Oil: Has incredible healing properties to get rid of chapped lips and promote healthy skin. It is also a natural anti-inflammatory.

Lavender Oil: Helps soothe irritation and provide antibacterial protection.

Peppermint Oil: Helps cool the skin to combat burning on the lips and also has antiseptic properties to prevent bacterial buildup.

Geranium Oil: Heals cracked lips by enhancing circulation beneath the skin's surface.
