A practical concentrated solution can be prepared using approximately:
- 10 g colourant + 100 ml water
- 20 g colourant + 200 ml water
- 50 g colourant + 500 ml water

Add the powder to the water and stir thoroughly until completely dissolved. The prepared liquid colourant can then be incorporated gradually into your formulation until the desired black or charcoal shade is achieved.

Because the colourant is highly concentrated, only a small amount may be required. Starting with a low addition level and gradually increasing the amount gives you better control over the finished colour.

If crystals or solid material form in the prepared solution during storage, stir thoroughly until redissolved. Preparing a more dilute solution, such as approximately 7%, may also help reduce crystallisation.
