Heated Water Phase
87.5g Distilled Water
Heated Oil Phase
4g BTMS 25
8g Argan Oil
Cool Down Phase
0.5g Saliplus Liquid
Method & Storage
- Weigh the BTMS-25 and the Argan Oil in a suitable heat-safe mixing container.
- Apply heat gently to melt these ingredients together.
- Fill another heat-safe container with Distilled Water and heat till close to boiling.
- Once the Heated Oil Phase has melted and the Heated Water Phase has almost reached a boil, weigh the required quantity of hot Distilled Water into a third container if any water has been lost in the heating phase. Replace with more water if any has been lost.
- Add the hot water to the melted Heated Oil Phase.
- Blend the mixture at low shear for about thirty seconds using an immersion blender and then switch to hand mixing.
- Keep stirring until the mixture thickens up, then add the Saliplus Liquid in the Cool Down Phase.
- Stir again to combine and then pour into a suitable storage container.
- Store away from direct sunlight (can be store in the shower).
Why I Used These Ingredients
Distilled Water: It is free from impurities and minerals, and it provides hydration and moisturization to the scalp. It also facilitates the absorption and function of the other ingredients.
BTMS-25:The star of the show. It is classified as a cationic conditioner, meaning it excels in detangling, softening the hair, and smoothening the scalp. It is also an emulsifier, and therefore facilitates the combination of the oil and water in this recipe.
Argan Oil: Is easily absorbed into the hair and scalp. It conditions, removes frizzing, fights dandruff, and leaves the hair shining. Helps strengthen strands and restore their elasticity, thereby reducing breakage. Helps smooth the hair cuticle, increasing shine and reducing the appearance of split ends.
Saliplus Liquid: Is the preservative in this formulation. It prevents the growth of bacteria and fungi in the product.
Distilled Water
Our distilled water, prized for its purity and consistent quality, serves as an ideal solvent for crafting premium skincare and cosmetic formulations, offering versatility in creating lotions, creams, toners, and custom DIY cosmetics.

Saliplus Liquid (Diazolidinyl Urea)
Saliplus Liquid is a convenient broad-spectrum liquid preservative designed to safeguard skincare and beauty products against microbial growth, extending their shelf life. Suitable for water-in-oil and oil-in-water emulsions, creams, lotions, makeup, and highly pigmented products, it serves as a direct substitute to Liquid Germall Plus.

Optional Extras
To add some extra shine and boost moisture, try adding some D-Panthenol (Vitamin B5)!
Add just 0.5g to the formulation during the Cool Down Phase and keep the rest of the mixing process the same.
This hydrolysed protein can boost moisture retention with its film-forming properties, Keeping your hair silky smooth.
Add just 2g of Hydrolysed Jojoba Seed Protein to the formulation during the Cool Down Phase and keep the rest of the mixing process the same.
Note: When adding extra ingredients, remember to decrease the volume of Distilled Water by the same amount as what is being added.
