DIY Lotion Bars Recipe

Make your own natural lotion bars with this nourishing recipe, packed with skin-loving ingredients.

Ingredients

Total Time: Approximately 30-40 minutes

Melt the Beeswax and Shea Butter: Using a double boiler, melt the beeswax and shea butter until fully liquefied.
Cool Slightly: Remove from heat and let the mixture cool slightly.
Add Almond Oil and Essential Oils: Stir in the almond oil, lavender, and bergamot essential oils.
Pour into Moulds: Pour the mixture into your lotion bar moulds and allow it to set completely.
Unmould and Use: Once fully hardened, pop the bars out of the moulds and store in a cool, dry place.

Beeswax: Hydrates, conditions, and soothes the skin while creating a protective barrier. Its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties help to repair skin and protect against environmental pollutants.
Shea Butter: Rich in vitamins A, E, and F, shea butter nourishes the skin, balancing oil production without clogging pores, and addresses skin problems like dryness, wrinkles, and blemishes.
Almond Oil: Soothes dry and irritated skin, promotes smooth, youthful skin, and helps to boost collagen production while being non-comedogenic and lightweight.
Lavender Essential Oil: Calms the skin, promotes relaxation, and helps with the healing of irritated skin, while also reducing stress.
Bergamot Essential Oil: Disinfects the skin, balances oil production, and promotes the healing of wounds and eczema while evening out skin tone.

For a firmer lotion bar, increase the beeswax slightly. For a softer bar, reduce the beeswax and add more almond oil.
Store your lotion bars in a cool, dry place to prevent them from melting, especially in warm climates.
If you're sensitive to any of the essential oils, feel free to substitute with your favorite essential oils.
