Base, Melt, Pour!
What's a Melt & Pour?
Good question! To put it simply, a Melt & Pour is the base used to make a bar of soap. This means you can make your very own soap bars for your bathroom, with as little as this single ingredient. You can also customise it to your liking by adding in essential oils or colourants. Some bases are already fragranced with your favourite scents, while others have no scent so you can personalise it fully.
Select your Melt & Pour Base, then step into these steps
Step 1: Melting
Put the base in a heat-safe container or pot and put it on the stove to melt it down. Once it's liquid in form, add any ingredients you would like to add to customise your soap. This could be a different fragrance oil, essential oil to add some nourishment, or even MICA Powder to give it a luxurious appearance.
Step 2: Pouring
The now-complete soap into the mould of your choice to make your soap into a fun and functional shape. Now let it set and harden. Soaps set very quickly and will be ready for use after a couple of hours.

Something's Gone Wrong? Let's Fix It
Bubbles:
To get rid of small bubbles on your soap - gently spray Isopropyl Alcohol on the bubbles. This will settle the bubbles, allowing the bar to set smooth and clear.
Burning or Overheating:
Use low heat when melting the base down, not allowing it to boil. It only needs to be heated enough to attain a liquid form.
Sweating During Storage:
Sweating refers to little beads of moisture forming on the soap. This is caused by the glycerine in the base, since it naturally attracts moisture. Prevent sweating by storing in a cool place and wrapping the soap in plastic for storage.
Softness:
Your soap can become to soft if too much liquid is added to the base while melted. For example, too much fragrance oil is added and the consistency changed. To bring the consistency back to normal, try adding Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter, or Beeswax.
