Customizing Your Lotion

Once you have made the recipe and you are happy with the consistency and feel, you can start customizing it. Make it suit your skin type, and skin conditions, and make it your favourite scent. There are endless ways to customize the lotion, but here are some tips:

Making baby lotions: Avoid using essential oils, make use of natural/organic ingredients, and infuse your carrier oil with calendula and chamomile before making the lotion.

Turn your lotion into a cool muscle rub: Add peppermint, eucalyptus or arnica oil

Anti-aging Face Cream: Add argan or lavender essential oil

Lavender Lotion: Add a few drops of lavender extract

Thick, Whipped Lotion: Once the mixture has cooled, blend the mixture for 5-10 minutes or until it reaches a whipped, fluffy texture, on medium speed.
